Happiness is a journey, not a destination.

This is Mom’s sixth restaurant and catering business- she doesn’t know how to just relax. With restaurants like “Flash in the Pan” in El Paso, Texas (which was written about in the New York Times) and City Grill here in Austin- Ronda Karam has fed tens of thousands of happy customers.

Would you eat like that on a first date?

Love, Mom Gourmet Lunchbox is original to Austin. As many good ideas are, it was conceived over a few glasses of Pinot Grigio at Ronda’s kitchen table. What if we started a restaurant that used fresh ingredients like house-roasted turkey and roast beef- and put ‘Ronda sauces’ on the sandwiches and salads? And, we made it comfortable for families with distractions for kids and maybe little tables at their level?

Just roll up the sleeves a bit…

So in November 2011 we started work. Recipes tested, vintage art and salt-and-pepper shakers found- ovens and kids’ tables secured- we’ve been busy. By December we were open for business, and were already catering parties and luncheons- good food, and good news travels fast!
